About AWRT
Founded in 1951, AWRT is a national non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the impact of women in electronic media and allied fields. There are 30 local chapters across the nation. AWRT’s goal is to educate, advocate and act as a resource to AWRT members and the communications industry. The organization deals with key issues which impact our careers both locally and nationally.
Sacramento Chapter
The Sacramento AWRT chapter was founded by Karen Onstad in 2002 and is comprised of both female and male professionals. Our members are from many various fields including but not limited to media, marketing, management, news, public relations, sales and broadcast.
We encourage membership in AWRT as a way to learn, network and advance your career in the industry.
